This morning was annoying! I got into work at 8.30am, and the burgalar alarm was on, someone had tried to break in over the weekend, my boss was already sat at his desk and said it had been  going off since he got in at 8.
The alarm is situated in the corridor next to our office, so as you can imagine, it's pretty loud! By 9 am most of our team were in and going insane becase it was becoming unbearable!!  To top it all off, there's only one person in our building who knows the pass code to turn the damn thing off!!! The telephones were switched on at 9am, we couldnt hear the patients at the other end, the whole office was complaining of headaches.
So what does the NHS do about noise poloution? what actions do the NHS take to maintain the mental well being of their staff?? How did the NHS reduce that terrible terrible unbearable constant sound???
BINGO!
THATS RIGHT!!
EARPLUGS!!!!!
We were expected to sit at our desks wearing earplugs, and every time the telephpone rang we had to remove an earplug to answer and shout over the sound! - fantastic!!
and by 10am i lost it and went to break! thankfully by the time we got back ....peace had decended upon us :)
